Yıldız Teknik University is an 111-year-old prestigious university with a rich history in Turkey. As the university works towards future academic endeavors, it recognized the necessity of updating its brand identity. The challenge was to modernize the university's branding while still paying tribute to its past and traditions.
We proposed a rebranding project that would downplay the old logo and eliminate the circle and circular typeface. We also recommended changing the color from gold to a solid blue to give the brand a more modern appearance. To ensure the rebranding project was successful, we conducted research on the university's brand and its target audience to understand what elements were essential to preserve and what needed updating. We then collaborated with the university to develop a new branding strategy that aligned with its goals and values, including creating a new logo, brand identity, and brand guidelines for use in all print/digital marketing materials.
The rebranding project was a resounding success and had a positive impact on Yıldız Teknik University's image and reputation. The new logo and visual identity were met with approval by students, faculty, and staff, and contributed to a cohesive and modern brand image. To gauge the effectiveness of the solution, we employed a range of metrics, including brand recognition and engagement with marketing materials. Ultimately, the rebranding project helped position Yıldız Teknik University for future growth and success.
